Legislative Counsel

The North Carolina Association of County Commissioners seeks a Legislative Counsel to work as a member of the Government Relations team.  A primary responsibility of this position is to work as a member of the team to advocate on behalf of the Association before the North Carolina General Assembly and the Executive Branch.  A secondary responsibility will be to work in coordination with the Association’s General Counsel on legal issues impacting the Association.  A qualified candidate for this position will have significant legislative experience as well as excellent legal analytical skills.  The ability to work as a team member on projects, strategy, and achieving legislative goals is essential.  Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, will be a key function as the candidate will be expected to present before legislative committees, Association membership, and other outside organizations.  Law Degree required.  This position reports to the Director of Government Relations.  Salary is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.  The position is open until filled.  Please send resume and a NCACC application to:
