Association Executives of North Carolina (AENC)
Description: Association Executives of North Carolina (AENC), a 501(c) 6 tax-exempt organization representing association professionals throughout the state of North Carolina, is seeking a new Executive Director. Established in 1955, AENC’s mission is to advance the association management profession by providing networking and professional development, and increasing the recognition of the work done by association to advance the public policy interests of their members. AENC seeks to be the premier resource in North Carolina for the profession of association management.
Duties: The ideal candidate is organized, creative, and willing to take initiative, with the strong financial management skills and marketing and communications skills to successfully recruit members and secure sponsorship support of the association. The Executive Director reports to a board of directors, manages committee and volunteer groups within the organization, supervises staff and contractor/vendor relationships, and provides oversight for day-to-day operations.
Qualifications: Preferred qualifications include a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and at least five years management experience in an association or related setting. CAE certification a plus. Additional preferred attributes include – but are not limited to – excellent written and oral communication skills, development of content and management of events and programs, and ability to deal effectively with volunteer leaders. Salary based on experience and qualifications.
